Beryl Taylor

I took a workshop recently with the truly wonderful textile artist Beryl Taylor - please check her out if you don't know her - her work is awesome and to see a lot of it 'in real life' was just fabulous.

We were making fabric books and this is how mine finished up ...

Not the most cohesive of projects (my poor choices - not Beryls) but very enjoyable to make and I quite like the finished result

  1. Oooo, so jealous. I adore her work and her book makes me yearn to do better. What fabric did you work on please? Your pages are full of interest and I would love to look at them properly and find out more! Xx

    1. Thank you - we Gelli printed with fabric paint on White Egyptian cotton (not expensive) then bonded to felt with iron on Bondaweb :-) Acrylic paint would work although fabric might be a little stiffer I think - I will be trying this soon as don't have fabric paint

  3. This is awesome! It must have taken a lot of work and was certainly worth it! I have recently bought a sewing machine from a friend but haven't used it yet! I have not really dabbled with sewing before but want to have a go! I don't think I could manage anything this cool though! xx

  6. Your book is looking fabulous Jacqui. I know how much work you've put into this, all that hand stitching takes an age but it was so worth it, your book is beautiful.
